This is an exceptional opportunity to attend a session of the Lodge of Research of our Grand Lodge of New York, which meets in New York City, but periodically conducts a special session in Upstate New York. There will be a Festive Board and a presentation.
We are very fortunate to have this event in Onondaga District.
ALR W. M. Henry Abel III, will present a talk on his study results during the Festive Board of Research. His paper, titled "A Lodge of St. Lawrence, the Martyr Masons: NYC 1874. History, Mystery and Meaning", will examine this historical event, examine the origins of the Degree in Operative masonry, with even 12th century Mystery Plays that will touch on potential meaning.
The event is open to all, from Entered Apprentice to Master Masons. A complimentary commemorative "firing glass" will be provided, as part of the Festive Board of Research.
The complete program consists of:
1. Social hour at 6:00 pm
2. Open the ALR Lodge
3. Retire to the dining room for the Festive Board which will consist of dinner and a series of toasts with your very own commemorative firing glass
4. ALR W.M. Henry Abel III will present his paper on "A Lodge of St. Lawrence"
5. Return to the Lodge room and close the ALR session
6. Continue with social hour
