I am back in action in the East this month after missing our March Communication due to a work conflict. We will meet on Tuesday, April 21st for a very special meeting. That evening we will welcome two guests: R.·.W.·. Piers Vaughan, Grand Director of Ceremonies At Large and Chairman of the Grand Lodge Observant Masonry Committee, who will be in town to observe us and comment on our Observant Lodge methods for the Grand Master; and R.·.W.·. Eric Howd, who will provide our education for the evening with his presentation "Masonic Composers Throughout the Ages: From the 18th Century to the 20th Century".
We will begin with our usual pre-meeting Festive Board that evening at 6:30 PM. Please contact our Junior Warden, R.·.W.·. Richard Torrey (rwddgm1012@gmail.com) with your dinner reservation by April 10th. At 7:25 PM, we will proceed to the Lodge Room where we will begin with a brief silent meditation before opening Lodge in due & ancient form. Following our meeting and program we will retire downstairs for drinks and discussion. It will be a grand evening - please plan on attending.
As always, if any Officer is unable to attend, please contact myself or the Secretary, in advance. We hope to have all Officers present for this meeting in in their formal Tails so we can finally get our Official Photo taken. We were missing a few when we last tried in the fall. Please make every attempt to be there so we can get it sent into the Empire State Mason!
In preparation for this meeting, I would like to call an Officers Meeting for 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 19th. This will be for the purpose of Opening & Closing rehearsal and finalizing meeting plans. Be there on time and we will be finished in an hour!
In May, I have the honor of representing Seneca River Lodge at the Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of New York. It has been a few years since I last attended and I am looking forward to the session. If any SR160 Brother has interest in a particular item to be covered at the Session, please contact me. Later in May, we will hold our Annual Meeting and Elections - see next months column for more details.
Until then, Stay Observant!
Fraternally,
Worshipful Master
