Happy New Year! I hope all had a great holiday season. Seneca River Lodge is dark in January & February so we won't formally be meeting.
At the time of this writing, it appears that we may have a potential candidate. I will hold an initial meeting with him early this month along with the Seneca River Brother who is recommending him. I will explain the Observant Masonry concept to him & answer any early questions that he may have. If our concept interests him, then I will set up another gathering for him to meet with other members from our lodge, for us to get to know him and he to get to know us better. If things go well, a petition would be presented at our March meeting and voted upon at our April meeting. This means that the Entered Apprentice Degree would have to move from its presently scheduled date of April 16th to the following Saturday, April 23rd.
It is my hope that RW Wade Caler will be elected Worshipful Master in May and that the line of officers will progress. I look forward to having more time to create presentations for the Lodge. I also would like to see other Brothers step up and present as well. If you have an idea, let me know & we can help Brother Wade with his 2016-2017 Trestleboard by scheduling a date.
I would like to possibly begin some sort of Masonic Education program for the Lodge or possibly the District. I am not talking about the Grand Lodge programs that the Staff Officer does, though I encourage all to take these as they were beneficial to individual and lodge. I am thinking of something that may look at the esoteric side of Freemasonry. Is there interest in this? Let me know. Email me at rjpowell at arsmasonica.com
Keep current with Seneca River by checking out our website or Facebook page. If you are reading this, have an email address but don't get any emails from me, then send me an email and you will get on my contact list.
Until we meet again, stay Observant...
